Originaire de Boston, The Unseen se forme en 1994 à l'instigation de Mark et Tripp, alors membres de The Extinct. Malgré les fréquents changements de line up, le groupe parvient à maintenir le cap sur un punk inspiré par The Misfits, The Clash, Bad Religion et GBH se construisant, petit à petit, un répertoire qui donne naissance, en 1996,au premier album, Lower Class Crucifixion. Aujourd'hui, The Unseen possède 5 albums à son actif, une multitude d'ep et de split albums, ainsi qu'une vingtaine d'apparitions sur des compilations, parmi lesquelles Give'em the Boots 4 et Rock Against Bush.
Durant toutes ces années, les bostoniens tournent intensément, partageant l'affiche avec The Casualties, Anti Flag, Dropkick Murphys, Sick of it All, Suicide Machines, Agnostic Front, et effectuant même deux tournées des USA en tête d'affiche. Cette boulimie de travail aboutit à une notoriété valant à The Unseen d'être élu groupe punk de l'année 2004 aux Boston Music Awards.
